State of play (2026-08-31): this PR is the vehicle that fixes the published seed (#234's root cause — main still ships r603, pre-rename), but its coldstart gate has failed ~21 min into germination three nights running (r761/r765/r769), silently. Failure logs: vxrail ~/ci-gate-logs/run<N>-up.log. The gate now pages ntfy on red (PR #242), so the next failure is heard. Once #242 merges, the next nightly reseed branches from a main whose germinate is name-aware and FATAL-on-unflagged-template — if r769's failure was that class, the next reseed goes green on its own; if not, the up.log names the real break.
